I just got these awesome boards within the last couple of weeks and I can’t believe that I had never seen or heard of them before. They are perfect for Physical Education class as they work on balancing skills, coordination and will bring out the “inner skaters” in your students.
I only have 6 so we used them at a station and the kids had a blast spinning around, making up tricks, racing each other and balancing. I would love to get enough for an entire class and do a whole lesson with them next year. Check out my first impressions below.
After I made the video above, I realized that there are actually a lot of really good Spooner board videos already out there with examples of different tricks and people riding them on snow and grass as well. So search around for some cool ideas.
Anyway, if you don’t have them check them out, Amazon carries them and you can click the link below to check them out if you’d like.
Have an awesome day with your students!

Hey, what size do you recommend for spooner boards? I teach k-12.

Also, I love your videos and posters!

Hey Mark,
Glad you’re enjoying the resources!
It depends on the size of your students. The younger students will do well with the 23 inches but the older students can use the 25 inches board.
The boards are pretty universal!
Hope this helps!

My students love the Spooners but be cautious on wooden gym floors. Spinning will scratch them. I put a tarp down that students have to stay on.

I am interested in purchasing spooners for my program, but I was not sure what size would be best for elementary level students; mostly grades 3-5, but still like the option to use them with younger grades as well. They offer 24 and 28 inch length. Which ones do you recommend?
Thanks!

Hey Shane – All of my kids love the Spooners 4K – 5th.
I’m not sure what size they are, but I got the ones linked above in the post. I have only used that size, so I can’t advise one way or the other – except that it works great 🙂
